Madu Water Supply Project implemented in order to improve the water supply facilities to Madhu Church and provision of water to surrounding areas by the National Water Supply & Drainage Board as directed by the Ministry of Water Supply & Drainage with the blessing of Dr. Rayappu Joseph Bishop of Mannar has been ceremonially inaugurated by Mr. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply & Drainage on 8th December 2011. The Project cost is Rs. 505 Million and foundered by Government of Sri Lanka.

The first water bottle, introduced by the Water Supply & Drainage Board, was presented to President Mahinda Rajapaksa by the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, Dinesh Gunawardana at Temple Trees.
The bottled- drinking water named ‘ASUPINI’ is manufactured by the National Water Supply and Drainage board.
